Dadra and Nagar Haveli a union territory in the republic of India lies between the states of Gujarat and Maharashtra which is very obvious in the state maps of Dadra and Nagar Haveli.


It is the watershed of the Daman Ganga River, which flows through the territory. The town areas of Silvassa and Dadra lie on the northern banks of the river.


The Western Ghats range at the foot hills occupy the eastern portion of the district wholly formed as a territory in the Dadra and Nagar Haveli maps.

The history of this state is that, in 1783 the Nagar Aveli was controlled by the Portuguese’s Maratha navy because of the Portuguese ship sinking in the sea and then later they purchased Dadra. The population in this place ranges up to 2, 20,451 with (1, 21,731 males and 98,720 females).


The capital of this place is Silvassa and the State map of Dadra and Nagar Haveli portrays that the land area is about 491 sq.km. The climate of this state is warm and humid during the summer months and humid and less warm during the monsoon seasons. The south west monsoon from September brings copious rain to the state. The winter months are generally pleasant.
